Forretress ex (the card above) has a special ability called Explosive Energy, which can be used only once during your turn!
When used, Forretress ex becomes Knocked Out, but you can choose any number of basic Grass Energy cards from your deck and attach them to your Pokémon!
This ability can be extremely useful in accelerating Grass Energy all at once, depending on the strategy of your deck!
Also, one of Forretress ex's moves, Guard Press, has the effect of reducing the damage of the opponent's next attack on this Pokémon by 30. This makes it more likely for Forretress ex to withstand the opponent's attacks!
Examples of decks using Forretress ex include those with Chiongen EX (the card above), as it has good synergy with cards that require Grass Energy.
